BEST BRUNCH IN BARCELONA
Who doesn’t love a good brunch? However, it’s not easy to get it in the country where people are set to always eat their lunch at 2pm. We decided to put together a list of top brunch restaurants in Barcelona for those, like us, who like to wake up late and eat their breakfast closer to lunch.
Our list contains places we like and also those recommended to us. If you have a favorite place yourself let us know in the comments!
Alsur Cafe – Great for a lazy brunch with a book in Urquinaona
In this spacious venue, you’ll enjoy a great variety of brunch choices – pancakes, sandwiches, eggs benedict and burgers. I really like their bold play with flavors like a waffle sandwich or a donut burger. On the other hand, the natural juices are overpriced and rather tasteless.
They have 3 places in Barcelona: Urquinaona, El Born and Palau. Find the addresses here.
Milk – Tasty eggs benedict, good choice for a quick eat in Gótico
Quite small and popular, so can feel crowded. It’s a bit dark so it’s not the typical place you’d go to with a book on a lazy Sunday. The service is quick and eggs benedict are worth a recommendation.
Picnic – A healthy brunch in El Born
I read on Reddit to try their ‘croquetas de quinoa’ but haven’t had a chance to do so yet. Check out their Instagram, the food looks to die for, especially if you appreciate vegetables in your meal.
Trópico – Good coffee and arepas in El Raval
Known for its good coffee, serves a mix of Colombian, Venezuelan and European options, arepas are definitely worth a try.
Granja Petitbo – Good option, service a bit slow on Passeig San Joan
Small brunch cafe, usually packed with people, so beware if you come on the weekend. Still, it has a nice retro vibe to it.
Flax & Kale – Healthy, different and with delicious smoothies. Near Universitat
Vegetarian or not you’ll be surprised. You won’t find meat there but you’ll get plenty of fish and vegan choices. Pricey, in comparison to the others, but their food ideas totally stand out from the rest.
